Our History
King’s Legacy Farm was officially branded in 2023, but it began years ago at the home of King and Jennie Rhodes on Burnt Fort Road in White Oak, Georgia. Their home and grounds served as a place of small-scale gardening and community sharing. King Rhodes was known for always having a nice garden, particularly for producing an over-abundance of several varieties of greens year after year, which he never sold, but generously gave away to neighbors and virtually anyone who asked. Today, owners, Janice (King’s daughter) and Darrell Casey, have turned the land into a farm, paying tribute to the man who set the precedent for the community ministry. King’s Legacy Farm has been developed as a beacon of hope and sustenance in the community and beyond, seeking to provide others access to fresh foods, nutritious eating, and knowledge about healthy living.
